Festa musicale - A festival for flutes

14. June 2025, 10.00 - 18.00 Uhr
Participation fee: 50,00 €
Lecturer: Bart Spanhove

Under the guidance of Bart Spanhove, an anthology of special musical works from the MOECK library will be treated on this day. In this program, Johann Hermann Schein gives the Suite in G minor a special shine with its enchanting polyphony and sonorous harmony. Johann Sebastian Bach's impressive Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied will give you goose bumps, while Henry Purcell will enchant you with an ostinato bass over which the other voices improvise at will. The highlight and conclusion of the course is a completely new arrangement of Ruht wohl from the St. John Passion by J. S. Bach. This daring interpretation, which many musicians consider impossible, shines in an arrangement for recorder choir. Participants in this seminar should be able to play one or more lower recorders in addition to the soprano and/or alto recorder. Good sight-reading skills are required. The pieces are also rhythmically demanding. Listening to the original works can be very helpful.
