Flauto Penta

The Pentatonic Recorder

Our Flauto Penta is based on the pentatonic scale. It is one of the oldest and most widely used scales in the world and consists of five notes per octave. The notes harmonise well with each other, so there are no dissonances when played together. The clear, pure tones invite you to playfully immerse yourself in the world of music, without any fear of producing off-key sounds.

As part of basic music education for pre-school and primary school children, our Flauto Penta helps children develop an initial feel for melody and rhythm. The simple fingering technique enables them to learn simple melodies quickly and motivates them to experiment and discover.

The Flauto Penta has five tone holes on the front and a thumb hole on the back. It is tuned to D and has a range of just over an octave. It is available in one version made entirely of maple wood or, for younger players, in a more robust version with a head joint made of special plastic and a lower joint made of maple wood.

Whether for early musical education, musical work with children in different learning concepts, such as Waldorf education or music therapy, the Flauto Penta is ideal for promoting emotional expression and strengthening concentration. With its clear timbre and ease of use, it is a wonderful means for playfully accessing one's own feelings and expressing them creatively.
