In principle, wood is a natural material that is perfectly suited to recorder making. However, it has the property of "working", i.e. warping. The effects of moisture and heat in particular contribute to this. Such changes in shape have a slightly detrimental effect on the recorder. The response or sound can deteriorate, the recorder can quickly become hoarse or other undesirable effects can occur. In this case, only maintenance or repair by the manufacturer will help.
If you would like a repair, it is best to fill out the repair form (available for download on this page). Then send it together with your instrument to:
MOECK Musikinstrumente + Verlag GmbH
Repairs
Lückenweg 4
29227 Celle
Germany
Please also include your telephone number and e-mail address. Any queries can be discussed quickly and easily.
As soon as we receive the instrument, we will draw up a repair plan or, if requested, a cost estimate. If there are any problems that were not mentioned in the questionnaire, the plan will include the corresponding items. If desired, the work will then be carried out or the instrument will be returned unfinished.
Generally speaking, recorders are very durable if handled with care. However, many people do not realize that their instrument should also be serviced occasionally by specialists. Such treatment is almost always worthwhile and gives the instrument its usual freshness.
