Soprano Recorders Based on a Model by Jan Steenbergen
Our Steenbergen soprano recorders are based on an original instrument by Jan Steenbergen (Amsterdam, 1675–1728) from Frans Brüggen's legendary recorder collection.
The instruments are characterised by their cantability, a typically Baroque, bright, warm sound and their brilliant high register. They are particularly suitable for solo playing and Baroque literature.
The choice between high and low pitch (A1 = 442 Hz or 415 Hz) and a selection of three different types of wood – pear wood, boxwood and grenadilla – open up numerous musical possibilities. Meticulously crafted, beautifully designed and supplied with a fine leather case and high-quality care products.
